THE DISCIPLINE

__

Life is the ever-dynamic unknown.  The one great frontier that puts you to a decision for your well-being every day.

How you respond is a function of your willingness and your ability.  A test of your commitment.  A test of your skills, tools, and know-how to maneuver and advance.

To successfully respond is to compete.  To overcome the relentless forces of change, challenge, and resistance.  To exercise executive command of what you do and how you do it.  Executive command of the whole of your personal Life enterprise.  Of your mind.  Of your everyday actions and behaviors.

The know-how required to create and sustain Life enterprise value is not innate, it’s a learned set of skills.  And the capacity to make competitive use of those skills in a relentless, ever-changing environment is a craft.  That craft is our discipline.  We know it as Self-Command.

Self-Command is a whole Life discipline.

__

>  A means to navigate Life.

>  A weaponized approach to compete and overcome the ruthlessness of the environment.

>  An instrument of care to eliminate harm.

>  A deliberate path to truth, freedom, and independence – to Joy.

The Fundamentals

The what, why, how of the discipline.

__

The What

The high objective of the discipline is to Win.  Winning being an outcome that manifests when the highest meaning areas of your Life are thriving, when all lower meaning areas are functional, and when command of the personal enterprise is organized, complete, and competitive.  Winning is the Standard in Self-Command and “what” must be achieved to realize the “why”.

__

The Why

The why of Self-Command is to create true Joy.  Joy being an earned internal state that manifests when you Win.  When you’ve overcome the difficulties associated with navigating and managing the external and internal environments.  When you’ve optimized meaning by achieving what you want.  When you’ve established executive control of your Life and have reason to believe that what you want can continue to be had.

__

The How

The practice of Self-Command is the operating engine of the discipline.  It is close-quarters, high engagement Life leadership.  Structured to cycle through Eight Points of Command, the practice is the means employed in the discipline to Win.  The practice is “how” you achieve the “what” and ultimately realize the “why” in Self-Command.
