What is Self-Command?
At its core, Self-Command is an answer. A response to Life. A response to each of the two domains of the environment that we, as individuals, live and operate in every day.
> Self-Command is a response to the aggressive external environment. To the complex operating space that is generally indifferent to our success. A space characterized by its constants – change, challenge, and resistance. Relentless natural forces that confront on the day. Forces inflamed by the harm that litters the landscape – disrespect, betrayal, manipulation, deception, duplicity, pretense, etc.
> Self-Command is a response to the wild internal environment. To the mental-emotional space generally partial to our success. Partial, with issues. A space characterized by a never-ending stream of thoughts, feelings, dialogue, etc. with no on-off switch. Management of the internal feed is complicated. The mental-emotional engine is a powerful force capable of freeing the self. Also capable of oppressing and destructing the self.
The Self-Command response to the chaos and unruliness of the environment is a counter move. A counter to a situation that is at once an opportunity and a threat. An opportunity in terms of the high value experience available to those capable of operating. A threat in terms of the oppressive consequences dealt to those ill-equipped to compete.
Self-Command is a means to navigate and overcome the external environment and bring executive order to the internal environment. Founded as a whole Life discipline and organized into an eight-point monthly practice, Self-Command is high engagement Life leadership. A complete system designed to create and sustain executive command of all areas of the personal Life enterprise.
